Miaoli is a Hakka heartland known for tung blossoms in spring, historic Shengxing Railway Station, and the wooden streets of Nanzhuang Old Street. The county produces Taiwan's finest strawberries in Dahu and offers excellent hiking in Shei-Pa National Park.
