Yinshan (Yin Mountain) Temple

About

– New Taipei City Perched on a hillside in Tamsui, Yinshan Temple is a quiet sanctuary that offers both spiritual solace and stunning views. This temple is dedicated to various Taoist and Buddhist deities, and its multi-tiered structure climbs up the slope, with each level offering a different perspective of the surrounding area. The air is thick with incense, and the sound of chanting drifts through the halls. The real draw, though, is the view. From the upper terraces, you can see the Tamsui River winding toward the sea, with Guanyin Mountain looming in the distance. It’s a peaceful spot to sit and reflect, away from the crowds of Tamsui’s old street. The temple is also a popular place for locals to come and pray for good fortune, so you’ll get a genuine sense of Taiwan’s religious culture. Wear comfortable shoes—there are a lot of stairs.
