Park • Taoyuan
Xiao Wulai, or Little Wulai, in Taoyuan’s Fuxing District, is a quieter, less crowded cousin of the famous Wulai further north. The main attraction is the waterfall, which tumbles down a rocky cliff into a deep, emerald pool below. There’s a viewing platform that gets you close enough to feel the mist, and a suspension bridge that offers a different perspective. The area is also known for its cherry blossoms in spring, which paint the hillsides in shades of pink. The trails here are easy and well-marked, making it a great spot for a family outing. After your walk, stop by one of the small stalls for some local snacks. It’s a peaceful, unpretentious spot that rewards a slow pace.
